As members of a coach community, we have the opportunity to be of service to each other, to benefit from the wisdom of our group.  Our yearly coaching practicums (facilitated sessions where you are coached, you coach others and then share feedback), have been a shining example of service to one another. These sessions have been among the most well-received programs ICF Virginia offers. In that spirit, we have decided to up our game and conduct two practicums this year, one in July and one in December. Get a little practice among your peers. It’s one of the best ways to up your game.

Participants will be paired to coach each other.  Following each coaching session, we will share observations and experiences and explore opportunities during a debriefing exercise. Then we will break for lunch and informal discussion about your experience.

Learning Objectives:

  • To explore critical incidents in a coaching session and identify coaching moves which help the client progress
  • To practice coaching in a supportive environment
  • To receive supportive and constructive feedback on a coaching session
  • To identify the core coaching competencies used in a live coaching session
  • To sharpen observational skills as client and observer by giving feedback to fellow coaches
  • To meet and interact with other members of our ICF chapter in a professional, supportive interaction.
