Biography
Petra Platzer is CEO and a founding partner of SixSEED Partners, a firm providing integrated solutions to heal healthcare systems. She is a development-oriented coach, facilitator and systems thinker.
As a well-published cancer researcher, Petra focused on identifying markers in signaling pathways leading to dysfunctional organs, resulting in unhealthy systems. In her leadership roles at the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Platzer recognized this same process between individuals and teams and their impact to the organization. This ignited her passion for working with leaders, teams and systems to co-create the healthy, interdependent signals they need to achieve their desired results.
As a professionally certified coach (PCC) and graduate of Georgetown University’s Executive Leadership Coaching program, Petra has successfully partnered with numerous clients and colleagues in the healthcare and academic settings to support developing effective leaders, teams, interdisciplinary initiatives and tangible culture changes. As a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), Petra has translated this work to support individuals with aligning their behaviors to achieve the results important to them for their overall wellbeing.
Through her roles as Director of Georgetown University’s Health and Wellness Coaching Certification program and Wellness Director at Atria Health, Petra emphasizes developing the coach approach and increasing our capacities to transform our individual, team and system’s health. She also serves as an affiliate leadership coach with the Physician Leadership Institute, the Healthy Companies International, and TEDx Fellows.
Dr. Platzer is a member of ICF Global and served on the Board of Virginia’s chapter of the International Coach Federation (ICF). Petra holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Kent State University and a B.S. from Virginia Tech. She is co -inventor on a patent and has multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals. Most notably, Petra was named “Woman of the Year – Forward Thinker” by Glamour magazine and Toyota in 2005.
