The Wheel of Self Sabotage Model:
How to Help Clients Break
the Self-Sabotage Cycle

Date: June 2, 2023
Time: Noon - 1:30pm Eastern Time
Location: Virtual - Zoom Meeting Room
Speaker: Joanna Lindenbaum

CCEs: 1 in Core Competencies and 0.5 in Resource Development

One of the top reasons individuals have trouble reaching their goals is because of self-sabotage & resistance: we often hold ourselves back from taking action, from showing up in the ways we want to show up, from visioning aligned goals and from strategizing effectively because of this. When we can support our clients to overcome resistance & self-sabotage, it allows them to more easily complete tasks, make better decisions that lead to results, and make better headway in their personal & professional growth.

Join us for an interactive session where we will unpack the nature of Self-Sabotage & Resistance through a trauma informed coaching lens – why Self-Sabotage & Resistance shows up, how it shows up, and how to apply ICF competencies of Active Listening, Powerful Questioning, Creating Awareness & Designing Actions to help clients break the cycle of self-sabotage and move towards the inner and outer goals they desire.

"Takeaways"
• A nuanced understanding of the root causes underneath self-sabotage and how to Create Awareness for clients to move beyond them.
• An understanding of The Wheel of Self Sabotage model & how to use Activate Listening to identify the weak places on the Wheel – the places that can yield change for clients.
• A process using Powerful Questioning and Designing Actions to support clients to step off the Wheel and into forward action & more confidence.
• A deeper understanding of your own self-sabotage behaviors and practical tools for yourself.
