A Networking Event, a Mixer, a Gathering of COACHES

This gathering will be interactive and collaborative, fostering engaging discussions rather than a one-way speaker or lecture setup. We will focus on meeting each other and sharing ideas to build community.

This 60-minute session is organized as follows:

  • 10 minutes INTRODUCTIONS: This is a quick round of introductions answering the question as a coach: "Where are you struggling? Where are you winning?"
  • 10 minutes ONE KEY CONCEPT One group member shares one strong concept/idea/tool with the group and some references for further research. (speaker is decided on the spot, no prep)
  • 15 minutes 1-2-4-ALL People reflect in silence for 2 minutes, then share their thoughts with a partner for 4 minutes, then in a group of four for 6 minutes, and finally, in plenary for 3 minutes.
  • 20 minutes TROIKA CONSULTING In trios. One person (the client) presents a challenge they are dealing with where they need help for 2 minutes. They answer questions from the other two (consultants) for 3 minutes. Then, the person just listens (no camera) to the two consultants talking about the issue for 10 minutes. The consultants come up with at least 2 simple recommendations to implement right away. Without judging the recommendations and focusing on appreciation, the client asks clarifying questions and reflects out loud on what they heard for 2 minutes. Finally, a free-flow dialogue and reflection on the process in trios for 3 minutes.
  • 5 minutes ADJOURNING

About Our Speaker - Adriano
Pianesi

Change, adaptation, and personal transformation are central to Adriano’s lived experience, and they are foundational to his approach as an executive coach

Adriano earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Milan, Italy, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of Rome, Italy and the University of Santander, Spain. He holds an associate coaching certification (ACC) from the International Coaching Federation, College of Executive Coaching.

“After working for 20 years in corporate America,” he says, “I discovered I could leverage my business expertise and personal transformation experience to help leaders reimagine and redesign themselves and their organizations.”

Adriano’s coaching work is built on values like human dignity, choice, responsibility, authenticity, openness, learning, diversity, and inclusion. He dives deep with clients, exploring areas that might have been previously hidden. Power, dissent, and emotions are discussed head-on, often leading to personal growth and change.

An enthusiastic professional with a commitment to connection, Adriano is passionate about helping clients turn ideas into action, build optimism for the future, gain clarity and courage to address uncertainty, and manage transition and change.

“My work is based on the concept of emergence,” he says. “I create spaces in which individuals and groups can become their best selves. Participants are given permission to be imperfect, experiment, miss the mark, and recover.”

In addition to his work as an executive coach for the past 6 years, Adriano serves as an adjunct faculty member at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, where he teaches graduate and executive courses on innovation, power, and change. He also teaches a certificate program in nonprofit executive leadership at the Johns Hopkins Krieger School of Arts & Sciences. Adriano has published extensively on subjects that include leadership, design thinking, and adaptive change.

TEDx Speaker . English, Spanish, Italian, and basic French. U.S. citizen.
