This session will provide basic practices for mindfulness-bases self-care techniques for coaches. We will learn about the science of mindfulness-based techniques, and how these techniques support us as coaches for ourselves and our clients. Participants will have the opportunity for experiential learning and have some more tools to add to their toolbox.

Participants will increase their ability to:
1) be more present and non-judgmental
2) reach higher levels of listening by increasing focus in the moment
3) improve emotional regulation & attentional focus during coaching sessions
4) Support mental, emotional preparation and care outside of coaching sessions.

About Michelle Reugebrink, MCC
Michelle has worked for the Federal Government for 38 years and is using her expertise in mindfulness, coaching and leadership experience to help federal government reimagine workplace wellbeing. Michelle was the recipient of the Paul Gleason Lead by Example award. She was recognized for her unwavering determination to bring mindfulness, resiliency, and the wellbeing of wildland firefighters and their families to the forefront of our minds and into our decision making. Michelle worked for 16 years on wildland fire engines, hand crews, and hotshot crews and held fire quals for 35 years. She was featured in the April 2018, 5th anniversary edition of Mindful Magazine for her work around Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and coaching. Michelle was also featured in TIME magazines anniversary addition (September 2018, 2019, & 2020) for her work in teaching mindfulness. She was the first in the federal government to be a Master Certified Coach. Michelle co-authored two Pocket guides,Stress Control and Resilience and Crisis Intervention and Recovering from Traumatic Stress. 

Michelle was part of a documentary for the National Fallen Firefighter Foundation to share stories and learn from a fatality fire in 1994 Storm King Mountain. In 2008, Baskin-Robbins and the National Fallen Firefighter Foundation named Michelle Reugebrink one of America's 31 Firefighting Heroes. This honor recognizes her for outstanding acts of valor and commitment to the ideals of community service and protection of life as a Forest Safety Officer and wildland firefighter. Michelle has been married to Robert Reugebrink for 32 years; they have two adult sons and a daughter-in-law, and she will be an Oma the end of this year.
