What Every Coach Needs To Know About ADHD Coaching
Presented by: David Giwerc, MCAC, PAAC, MCC
CCEU: 1.5 (1.5 Core Competencies)
Many undiagnosed clients with ADHD struggle with the invisible challenges of their Executive Functions. It can be like riding a volatile wave in the ocean; they never really know where the current is going to take them.
Well-trained ADHD coaches understand ADHD. They know how to empower their clients to understand the special gifts of their unique brain wiring so that they can leverage them to create daily progress and fulfillment.
David Giwerc, Founder/President of the ADD Coach Academy, will present a powerful overview of what ADHD really is, and how the coaching process empowers individuals with ADHD to create their own success.
Three things our audience will learn:
· The specific Executive Functions of the human brain and how they are the foundation for understanding the invisible challenges of ADHD so that they can be effectively managed.
· How an ADHD coach is trained to witness, reinvent, and empower their ADHD client to understand who they are and what specific situations, tasks, and activities will consistently activate his or her ADHD brain and sustain focus to complete important goals.
· How the ADD Coach Academy (ACTP) coaching model integrates ADHD educational models, VIA character strengths, and the ICF coaching competencies to empower individuals with ADHD to create intentions aligned with their heartfelt values. If time permits, David will also present preliminary findings of a VIA character strengths research study being conducted by the ADD Coach Academy. The Academy is the only comprehensive ADHD coach training program in the world approved by the VIA Institute of Character to conduct the research utilizing the free VIA character strengths survey with adults who have been diagnosed with ADHD.
