Biography
April O. McBride, a native of Walterboro, South Carolina, believe her soul purpose in life is to utilize her God given talents, attributes and expertise to make a difference in the lives of individuals in need. From her adolescent years to adulthood, she has learned that her gratification comes from serving others. Her compassion for serving has led her to pursue a career in counseling. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from the College of Charleston (Charleston, SC) and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Webster University (North Charleston, SC). In June 2007, she became a licensed Associate Professional Counselor by the State of Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage Family Therapists. In March 2020, April McBride shifted her career path and became a Certified Say Life !Coach. In November 2020, she proudly fulfilled her dream of becoming an entrepreneur and birthed McBride Enterprise, LLC. In May 2024, she earned her ICF -ACC! As an ICF Associate Certified Coach, I have coached over 100 clients on leadership, habit formation, purpose and calling, mindset and motivation, and emotional regulation. I led group coaching to corporate and collegiate organizations to foster a community with social awareness, growth mindset, and emotional intelligence.
Mrs. McBride is well aware that her accomplishments are not achieved on her own merits alone, she accredit her achievements to the countless individuals who offered their time, shared their talents, and showered her with their wisdom and knowledge to help her become a Woman of Service. In her efforts “to pay it forward”, McBride has joined forces with national and local public service organizations. April McBride is a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, (2000-present), Ladies First, Inc. (2011) nonprofit organization designed to uplift and empower young ladies, a facilitator for Army Community Services (2010-2012) and a led of the Women Faith Fellowship Ministry (2014-present) at Mount Bethel Baptist Church in Virginia Beach.
In April 2019, she was awarded the Myrtle Tyler Faithful Sisterhood Award by Chi Omicron Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated. In October 2020, she was recognized as The Resilient TOP TEN in The Resilient Magazine. In 2022, she was awarded 78th Eastern Regional Zeta Image Award.
April McBride has managed to navigate these unchartered waters with her spouse of 21 years, LCDR Michael L. McBride, (retired)US Navy and Chief Operating Officer of ME Coaching and Consulting LLC.The mother of a vibrant 4 year old, Kobe McBride.
