We invite you to join us in-person in Virginia Beach or virtually on Thursday, November 5, for a continuing education session: AI in Coaching: Risks, Consent, and Responsible Practice. As a follow-up event to ICF Virginia's Summit in April 2026, the goal of this workshop and discussion is not to decide whether AI is good or bad, but rather to help coaches perform sufficient due diligence to:

  1. Understand how an AI tool handles client information
  2. Communicate those practices clearly
  3. Obtain meaningful informed consent when AI is part of the coaching process

Not all AI use carries equal risk, and understanding the risk more precisely helps coaches explain it to their clients, which is what moves disclosure toward informed consent. The aim is to arrive at a set of questions that coaches can use to evaluate any tool so that they can create trust and safety through transparency and be clear about the parameters of AI use and application in the coaching relationship, when establishing engagement and session agreements.

Presenters: Erika Frydenlund (Lyric Road LLC) & Krzysztof Rechowicz (Through-Line Coaching LLC)

Format: Interactive, Discussion

Length: 90 minutes

Audience: Coaches with mixed levels of AI familiarity

Continuing Coach Education (CCE) Units: TBD (application being considered by ICF)
